1. Tinea Versicolor Selsun Blue Treatment
One of the most common and most effective treatments for Tinea Versicolor is applying Selsun Blue shampoo to the affected areas of skin.
There are several formulations of Selsun Blue with different active ingredients. This Selsun Blue is the formula that works fastest. You should only need to buy one bottle if you get the right kind.
Apply a layer of the Selsun Blue to your rash and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Wash off. You should only need to repeat this a few times.
The shampoo may feel a bit gross on your skin because it’s sticky and cold. You may need a second person to help you apply it if you have the rash on your back. If you don’t want to involve another person in the application of shampoo to your rash, your best bet is to buy a long handled lotion applicator for your back.
2. Oregano Oil

3. Cinnamon Essential Oil
Cinnamon essential oil is also a great anti-fungal. Mix a few drops of cinnamon essential oil to a tablespoon of olive oil and apply to the skin rash. Wash the cinnamon essential oil off after 20 minutes. Repeat until condition clears up.

Yogurt is full of good probiotics that help keep yeast at bay. Yogurt, a long standing folk remedy for yeast infections, can be applied to the skin and left on 20-30 minutes daily until rash is gone.
The best kind of yogurt to use is plain greek yogurt because it is thick. Don’t try using yogurt if all you have in the fridge is sweetened fruit filled yogurt. The yogurt should be plain without sweeteners.

To treat your Tinea Versicolor with apple cider vinegar apply equal parts Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar and water to the affected area and leave on 15 minutes. Repeat until the rash clears up.
You want to buy unfiltered apple cider vinegar with “the mother”. Braggs is a trusted, well known brand.
You can also drink apple cider vinegar to keep tinea versicolor from recurring. Mix two tablespoons in water and drink this once or twice daily.
8. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil works to treat Tinea Versicolor because of its anti-fungal properties. Using tea tree oil will also help to reduce itching associated with the Tinea Versicolor rash.
Add 3-5 drops of therapeutic grade tea tree oil to one tablespoon organic olive oil and apply to affected area using a cotton ball or pad and allow to dry then wash off. Do this for several weeks until rash is gone.
